Stoner Rock Magically Mixed with Retro Rock !
How is the sound ?
It’s been a long time I didn’t review an Aussie band, so here we are, let’s dive in the “Desert Cult Ritual” of Arrowhead from Sydney !
Because yeah, these dudes really crafted the perfect soundtrack of a road-trip in the desert, it’s a thundering blast of Stoner Rock loudness & heaviness !
Think the groove and rawness of Brant Bjork mixed with the burning riffage of Fu Manchu !
But they also have that 70’s Heavy Blues/Rock spirit deeply flowing into their veins. The swedish band Brutus is the first that comes to my mind in this genre when hearing Arrowhead, and I love that band so it’s a nice compliment 😉
Killer stuff !
Why is this band worth listening ?
- Catchy as hell songs !
- A very pleasant mix between modern Stoner & 70’s Heavy Rock
- Massive fuzzy sound !
- They don’t forget to put that Psychedelic side here & there…
In what situation you should listen to this band ?
Hitting the road at full speed ! Doesn’t matter where, just drive where that badass sound brings you 🙂
