Raw Fuzz & Vintage Spirit !
How is the sound ?
You certainly heard about it in the last few weeks, but I couldn’t pass on this one and not talk about it on More Fuzz !
Killer Boogie is the side-project of Black Rainbows‘ frontman, Gabriele Fiori. A little gem full of raw fuzz that takes its roots from 70’s Heavy Rock bands like MC5 or Blue Cheer to name a few…
9 solid songs with, indeed, a “Killer Boogie” atmosphere, these dudes are here to shake your asses mofos ! Of course the great Radio Moscow or Prisma Circus also come to mind when hearing those supersonic tunes.
It’s like a steamroller which accumulated more Fuzz than it could store, and was released because it became too unstable !
Why is this album worth listening ?
- Because it’s a Fuzzy & Groovy powerhouse that destroys everything on its path !
- Because it’s a refreshing release in the style of Radio Moscow, songs are heavier and more elaborated, it’s fuckin’ good !
- Because I was born in 1992 and not in not in the 50’s to enjoy all those fabulous bands that popped in the 70’s. Here I’m feeling a bit like if I was actually born in that era, discovering for the first time this raw and energetic type of sound for the 1st time 🙂
- I’m a sucker for guitar solos, and here they’re just so damn cool ! Gabriele surely knows how to use his axe !
In what situation you should listen to this album ?
At least don’t take cocaïne while listening. Oh and why not ? This is fuckin’ Rock ‘n’ Roll !!!
Something particular to note ?
Ok most of the songs have a high “Temperature Level”, but some like “Cosmic Eye” and “Silver Universe” have some beautiful mushrooms-induced parts… Another reason to listen to “Detroit” !
