Acid Cosmic Blues all the Way !
How is the sound ?
The finest French purveyors of 60’s/70’s fuzzy/bluesy psychedelic sounds are back with their first full-length entitled Kaleido Lumo Age, let’s listen to what Libido Fuzz came up with !
When I first discovered Libido Fuzz with their first release “We’re a Heavy Psychedelic Boogie Band“, I instantly knew these guys were onto something good full of a retro groovy vibe I enjoy so much ! But I hadn’t enough of it. So I waited to see if they would come with another little gem in the Bluesy Psychedelic realm, where Radio Moscow seems to have taken the throne without any doubt.
Well my dear fuzzers, be sure those 3 Frenchies deserves to be considered as the Radio Moscow’s “King’s Hand” !
This album of 7 highly addictive groovy tunes is just fabulous ! And I insist on the GROOVE ! This is where Libido Fuzz shines ! Pierre-Alexis, the vocalist/guitarist, just created the ultimate bluesy riffs to make your head swing on each lick ! Add to this a killer vintage fuzzy tone, some killer wah-wah solos, reverb-laden vocals, and you get the perfect recipe for a great ass-shaking session 🙂 Of course, Nick (bass) and Thibaut (drums) also play a key role in that groove, we’re in a trio Doh ! From rumbling bass lines to skilled toms and hi-hat tricks, the Libido Fuzz rhythm section is also there to remind you they’re a “Heavy Psychedelic Boogie Band” !
But did I also mention Libido Fuzz can also be fuckin’ Heavy and full of “Purple Haze” ? Well I just said it. And what a better example than listening to “Redemption of The Bison” to illustrate my words :
Enough for me, I let you go through this wonderful album melting perfectly a killer retro vibe with elements of blues, acid rock and psychedelic smokes…
PS: Don’t break your neck during the end of “Haight Ashbury”, the amazing last track of the album…
Why is this album worth listening ?
- DAT GROOVE ! It’s simple as that.
- Because they’re secretly trying to dethrone Radio Moscow, and they might have some serious arguments to do so…
