Psychedelism & Hot Chocolate

Well well well my dear fellas, today i’m not feeling like I should crush you with some kind of mega heavy, super strong shit, full of hairy balls and whisky, I’m feeling more like drinking a hot chocolate with you, under that nice blanket you just got last christmas from your grandma !

I know, I know it sounds a bit girly, even not worthy of my name, but who the fuck cares ? Today I need and want some feelings, emotions and sweet sweet love to the music I listen to.

And for that, I’m gonna call Lunar Dunes.

I had recently a really good (drunk) conversation with a good friend of mine about “Stoner music” and the definition that she had and how she felt about it. She told me a really interesting fact that I want to share with you, people of More Fuzz !, people of the world. She said that “Stoner music” had this sensibility that can slowly evolved into something much more brutal, which is very similar to an emotion. I also picture this genre as an emotion. Let’s think about it shortly. Emotions can evolve, it can be positive or negative, it is always changing, it can be Light or Darkness. And I like the fact that every little lights are always creating shadows. This sensibility in music, for my part is something that I’m always looking forward to hear in every bands that I listen to. And Lunar Dunes are part of those who I strongly consider of having their own typical sensibility.

In between being a jammy based band or simply a “prog-inspired” band, Lunar Dunes will take your hand, with kindness and love to take you to their own perception of the world. Perception that is for sure in some ways similar to the ones you could have had in the past. The music is at the same time very intriguing and attractive. Like that mysterious girl in a bar who seems to be alone but still surrounded by people, friends who keeps looking out to nowhere and whom you can’t get your eyes off. It is extremely addictive. As a mysterious girl can be everybody, Lunar Dunes’ music is everything. Of course, as a music addict that you are, you will directly hear some Goat in there, music’s UFO ! Lots of different instruments are here to flavored their tracks, you will hear great intros that great vocals will lead with panache !

For a band like this one, you will hear that the rhythmic aspect of every songs is crucial. Like The Cosmic Dead or Earthless, if you jam like this for hours, you will definitely need a strong bass line and nice drums patterns to keep on going. And Lunar Dunes have those, nice and warm under the blanket for you to enjoy them ! Every album they put out (“From Above” and “Galaxsea“) will show you their vision of the world, it will open your eyes about how beautifully huge is that genre. The groove will be your guide, just follow it and you won’t be disappointed ! Nice and soft female voice will always be here to comfort you !

I don’t want to tell you much more about that band as much as I don’t want to tell you where I found my hot chocolate and why it is so good 😉 Lunar Dunes was and are still one of the best soundtracks for a prevision of a really good night, or evening. It will make you want to feel your beloved one’s skin close to you, or just know that she/he is somewhere out there.
