Ready to Get Crushed by the Doom Machine ?
You want to feel the pressure of the greasy, low-tuned fuzz on your poor little head ? Then listen to today’s band, Major Kong, from Lublin, Poland.
Their last release “Doom Machine” (January 2014) isn’t named randomly… Indeed, it is a massive wall of gritty doom rolling on you ! Guys, it’s so heavy and nasty at the same time !
What would a “Doom Machine” look like for you if it exists ? For me, Major Kong’s one would have several deadly components to completely annihilate you..! Imagine a big cement mixer with very sharp metal pieces inside to shred your skin, the edges would narrow more and more to crush your body parts with heaviness, of course the thing would turn endlessly to make you feel dizzy, if you’re not already dead…
You can also notice a thin tube from the outside going in this machine, you don’t know where it ends, but you can see a thick smoke going through it and into the barrel you were miserably put into. What ?! That smoke has a very special smell ! Dude, it’s Weed ! It’s the guys from Major Kong smoking at the other end and blowing everything into that tube, just to make you to give you one last hit (yes because they’re cool too :D) !
This hazy, psychedelic side of the Polish band (if you didn’t understand…) is way more elaborated in their previous release “Doom for the Black Sun“, having more jams parts with endless airy and wicked guitar solos than “Doom Machine“. That’s why I really recommend you to listen to both records, they”ll blow your mind !
