Land Your Mind on a Star...
How is the sound ?
The other day I featured a killer Russian band with a lot of funky & psychedelic elements, Woozy Riff. Well, today here is another band also from Saint Petersburg, Matushka.
And I must say this trio deserves, without any doubt, the maximum level in the “Purple Haze Level” ! Yeah fuzzers, be ready to travel into the deeper space and maybe get lost there… Their last release in 2014, simply entitled “II“, is composed of 4 delicious spacey jams in the style of Papir or 35007 !
Their music is so relaxing, the endless rhythmic patterns combined with the chanting keyboard will make you both stoned and hooked without smoking anything ! Also, the lead guitarist, Timophey, is remarkably talented to play deep and calming melodies or tripped-out heavy solos !
Why is this band worth listening ?
- Excellent spacey jams
- Delay, reverb, weird effects, you have it all !
- Skilled musicians who have that inner gift to carry you away into another dimensions…
In what situation you should listen to this band ?
Try touching the stars… Or better, land your mind on the one you want !
Something particular to note ?
Happy to discover another very cool Russian band, I’m sure you guys will also like it 😉
Be careful with the track “Drezina”, it’s a 20 minutes jam, I’m not sure you’ll come back one day if you try listening to it…
