Watch out: Heavy rocks be falling when Pyornkrachzark eats!
These newcomers from North Carolina in the US of A released this selftitled EP at the end of June.
Four varied tracks showcasing their talent as song writers and musicians.
So crank this up and be ready to be rocked!
How is the sound ?
Stonekind opens with “Ember”, a short 2 minute intro filled with nice acoustic guitars leading into the first proper song. Then it gets good for real!
We are served a trio full of catchy stoner rock mixed with beautiful passages that turn down the pace which keep it from getting boring throughout each track.
“Talk To Fire” will get your groove on and it has some cool riffs that reminds me of Brant Bjorks guitar style.
“Black Molasses” starts off with a little bluesy riff then you’ll get some great intertwined vocal & guitar melodies that remind me of Sergeant Thunderhoof and last out is “It’s Alive” and it’s the least diverse track but for sure will get your foot stomping.
Stonekind might not be very original and you can find parts that point to different influences but that’s no big deal though because they still deliver some great songwriting and stellar musicianship.
And I for one will keep an eye on them because I believe there is great potential for an awesome debut album in the future!
