(Sorry no inspiration for the title, like the title of this release…)
How is the sound ?
Just discovered The Lunar Era yesterday thanks to a friend that gave a link to have listen, and WOW even if this is only 2 tracks, it’s 2 gorgeous ones ! The first one “Red River” lasting 7 minutes has that Stoner/Doom feel, very fuzzy and heavy, but mixing faster Stoner riffs with doomy lumbering ones, sounds like Glowsun to me !
The 2nd song ,”Black Moon“, will remind you Sleep or Electric Wizard style for its heaviness and its gloomy atmosphere in the middle of the song. It then ends with an energetic riff coupled with a killer solo, rising the tempo more and more, a bit ala Lonely Kamel, Horisont !
Why is this album worth listening ?
- Because it simply rocks !
- Excellent heavy riffs well tied together with a good sense of rhythm.
- Because it’s on “Free Download” on Bandcamp, jump on it !
In what situation you should listen to this album ?
Anytime, everywhere, just go and listen to those 2 songs by The Lunar Era. Of course you can open up a beer and roll one if you want, but I shouldn’t mention it 😉
