Atmospheric Fuzz...
Seb alias “Mr. Stone” will be our guest for this review 😉 He’s a very good friend of mine, sharing the same passion for fuzzy and psychedelic music ! He’s also the one with whom I’m going to all concerts since I live in Nantes, cool dude ! We both worship The Whirlings, I hope you’ll too after reading this review 🙂
How is the sound ?
That Italian band coming from L’Aquila represents the perfect mix between two particular and inspired genres, Stoner and Post-Rock. They manage to keep that atmospherical lightness with a greasy fuzzy sound, oscillating between heavy riffs that will blow your mind, and melodic take-offs to launch you into space !
Why is this album worth listening ?
-
They make a perfect post-stoner blend.
-
You’ll never know where the song will be in 1 minute…
-
They take you from a mood to another and you didn’t even noticed !
In what situation you should listen to this album ?
When you come back home after a big day at work, lay down in your couch, smoke a little one if you like it, put their LP on (or debut EP which is really good too) and let yourself be transported by their sound. Sure it will give you some energy back, and you’ll find yourself headbanging at some point.
Something particular to note ?
Given the fact that very few dare to mix Post-Rock and Stoner, and the way they perfectly take it to a high level, you may present a light addiction with a necessary dose by week. But don’t worry, it’s completely safe 😉
