It's with great joy and excitement we're taking another big step in delivering your DOSE OF FUZZ !
The beginning of the story for More Fuzz Records
You can already follow More Fuzz Records fb page
Hey fuzzers, Tanguy alias Mr. Fuzz here
Let me first tell you this journey with More Fuzz has been truly amazing since it started 2 years ago as an email-only newsletter. My passion for this music scene hasn’t stopped to grow since I first bought the morefuzz.net domain. In this short period of time I’ve listened to literally thousands of bands I never heard before. And the excitement to find those little gems, those bands who put their heart into their music, is what I think really drives me to keep doing what I do with More Fuzz.
That’s why I was thinking about this project for a long time, starting a label would be the next logical step in my desire to be part of this community. By creating More Fuzz Records I want to be even more involved in the success of the bands I truly love myself, and therefore, I think a lot of other fuzzers will too.
Is this the end of the More Fuzz blog then ?
Hell No !
With the More Fuzz team I hope we’ve helped a lot of you find and appreciate those bands we featured on the blog and on social media. And I want to make sure we’ll continue to do so. The growing community of fuzzers shows us you like what we do, and I think my mates would agree if I say it is very satisfying for each of us when you’re reading our reviews, interacting with us on social media, and ultimately knowing we have done our job : helping you discover new kickass bands !
So no, the More Fuzz blog is far from over, I even would like to expand it by publishing more various types of content, but more on that another day
Now let me show you the very first "More Fuzz Records" Release...
Please welcome Augustine Azul in the More Fuzz Family !
If you already saw my TOP 20 Albums of 2015, you should certainly remember this band. Yup, Augustine Azul first release was indeed at the 1st spot of my 2015 Top
So a few weeks ago those 3 guys from Brazil sent me their debut album. And GOD. The same spark that popped in my head the first time I heard their EP popped again with the new album, but it was like 1000 times bigger Augustine Azul created something truly unique, and that was the triggering factor for me to ask them if they would like to be part of “More Fuzz Records”. After a few virtual joints & beers, the deal was done, Augustine Azul would be the very first band in the More Fuzz Records roster

Why should you be impatient to hear the album ?
To give you an idea of what to expect from this kickass album you can already have a listen to their first EP here :
But also let me tell you what I think about it First I chose to release Augustine Azul debut album because they crafted a music you really never heard before. They have that little something only good bands have : a unique, and at the same time, instantly recognizable sound.
Then of course it’s not only interesting to have a unique sound, because that sound could be shitty too But let me be clear, it’s totally the contrary, it’s face-melting. With influences ranging from Radio Moscow, Earthless, The Atomic Bitchwax or even Captain Beyond, you’ll be submerged by songs with this complex proggish side while at the same time retaining that fuzzy heaviness we love so much. The flow of those 6 songs is just perfect, because yeah don’t expect to have endless jam songs, most of them are in the 4-5 minutes range, making them full of energy (even if you’ll also be able to hear some short parts higher on the Purple Haze Level) and never boring.
I should also note that each of these skilled musicians completely fills his role, the term “power trio” fits perfectly for Augustine Azul. First there is the rhythmic section with Edgard on drums who knows how to be a real beast but also show he has a lot of skill playing complex jazz influenced fills & rhythms. He is then accompanied by Jonathan on bass who has the grooviest bass lines I heard in a while , also his sound is purely insane. And last but not least, João on guitar, a genius who knows how to create riffs & melodies so catchy those songs will get stuck into your in head ! A true lead guitarist who will certainly amaze you…
So yeah, I hope this gave you a little taste of what these guys are about. Now you’ll have to wait before the release date (August 16th) to listen to Lombramorfose, or maybe before, who knows (hint : You can signup below to receive updates on the release)
