Sick Sick Sick !
(see the Ruby The Hatchet review to read this week introduction)
How is the sound ?
Fuck, did I really forget to put this in my 2014 Top Albums ?! I dunno where my head was when I did that list, but Black Moth latest album Condemned to Hope should have been very high in my TOP 25 !
What strikes first is of course Harriet vocals, that woman has a beautiful, strong and so bewitching voice ! Sounds like a sneaky serpent slowly seducing you to lead you in a dark corner, only to eat your entire poor little soul !
About the music itself, it’s a monumental blend of badass Stoner/Doom riffs, a gloomy atmosphere melted with the right dose of a punkish attitude, it’s freakin’ delicious ! Both of the albums they released is a real gem, literally blowing your head off with awesome songwriting and production, Doh ! It’s so catchy, it’s so easy to get lost into their evil ambiance !
This is SICK ! You should all listen to Black Moth if you haven’t done so already !
Why is this album worth listening ?
- Sexy, captivating vocals !
- You’ll be completely hooked from the first song to the last one, each riff flows so easily to the following one !
- Excellent melodic work between the 2 guitars, they knows when not to play the same thing, that’s what I call a real rhythmic/lead duo, sometimes it feels like QOTSA on steroids ! And I’m not even talking about the killer solos…
- HUGE HUGE sound !
In what situation you should listen to this album ?
Make it resonate in all your house, jump on your table and headbang like hell !
Something particular to note ?
