I’m very proud to reveal to the world a kickass album, “Return Of The Jackalope“, a long awaited release by 4 dudes from Cologne, Germany, be ready to have some sand between your teeth and dust on your glasses, PLAINRIDE is at the wheel !
July 24th : Unleash The “Jackalope” !
And what a beast that weird mystic animal is ! The union of a jackrabbit and an antelope gives you an explosive mix of a hard-hitting Stoner ‘n’ Roll and a kickass southern dusty vibe.By the way the artwork done by Artur Bäcker in this comic style looks awesome 😉 Also be sure you don’t forget your helmet because Plainride’s first full length drops on July, 24th on a newly created label by the cool name of Beerfuzz Records (Bochum, Germany).
And if you live near Cologne catch them for the Release Party @ Sonic Ballroom, July 22nd. It’ll be a hell of gig without any doubt seeing some live footages like this one :
Try your luck to win Plainride first album !
I manage to get a great deal for you fuzzers 😉 3 lucky guys will be chosen randomly in 2 weeks to win Plainride’s CD ! They will be shipped as soon as the album is released, July, 24th. The more “entries” you have, the more chances you have to win… Good luck brothers & sisters !
Plainride first release is a serious contender in my TOP 10 Albums of 2015
I’m not saying this because it’s the first album launch I’m doing on More Fuzz ( Yeah 😉 ). Nop, it’s just because it’s one the first album in 2015 that made me headbang more and more at each listen !
“To me, Plainride is that guy who’s doing 150 miles on the freeway, sippin’ redneck beer and shooting roadsigns with a sawed-off shotgun. Our main focus is rock’n’roll, hedonism and a little bit of freedom.” Max Rebel (Vocals, Guitar)
Max,Fabe van Fuzz (Guitar), Leo (Bass) and Andrew TheBeermachine (Drums) (now replaced by Damian The Brute) really crafted a burning set of 13 tracks, 6 of them which you could have already heard in their demo from the end of 2014. I know some of you were waiting for the full-length after hearing those. Well let me tell you it’s worth the wait ! Because it’s quite the night and day between the sound of this demo, and the one of this full release, very well produced by Szymon Swoboda at Vintage Records Studio in Poland.
“Our time in Poland was a hell of a ride. It was crazy, because during the whole time we were never really any further from the studio than half a mile. After two or three days, our collective sense of time had totally dissolved – none of us would have been able to tell how far into the production we actually were.”
They found a sweet spot between Clutch bluesiness and grooviness & Orange Goblin aggressiveness & loudness, mostly thanks to :
- Catchy riffs with a greasy fuzz
- Kickass melodies and burning solos
- I dunno why, but I smell a barbecue odor going through my speakers haha !
- Killer harsh, whisky-soaked vocals
Follow Plainride on Facebook and their hashtag #TasteBeerThirstday to get a tasty beer recommendation by the band !
These guys are so cool they even share with their fans on every 2nd Thursday a personal drinking recommendation like these ones :

I’m pretty sure these guys will make a huge splash in the scene, not only their music is fuckin’ good, but they also seem to know that a band is way better with a story behind, and also having some good communications skills to entertain their fanbase. All of that without searching to be the next big thing on the radio, but just play pure and kickass Rock ‘n’ Roll 🙂
I’ll leave you with their demo until they decide to unveil a track from their first album :
