Hi there dear people of the internet, friends, lovers or just followers, we’re here to please the unstoppable needs of fresh meat. Our family is getting bigger everyday on our side as much than on your side but it’s only thanks to you! Summer is now here to stay, at least for a while! European stonerheads, that you maybe are, are more than happy to be able to see so many things going on! Have a blast, drive somewhere you’ve never been and feel the change! While checking summer festivals, maybe we should all consider moving to Germany?!…

While the line between “stoner rock” and metal is getting more and more harder to define for some while others are definitely not feeling being part of this metal scene, you my friend, while you’re reading those lines have already made your choice!
Today’s menu is here to make you see how great this type of sound is, how much diversity and opportunities you can find in stoner rock, and why that diversity is so important in that type of music. In diversity I mean the numbers of sound, influences that you can find within your favorite bands that you’re listening to. It is showing you how huge the possibilities are in the interpretation of freedom, wilderness, immensity and epicness which make our world so beautiful and which make this type of sound so perfect.

Now let me introduce you to : EGGNOGG.

Those guys are here to blur your definition of diversity, no time to stumble they’ll crush you down with no hesitation. This time I don’t want to tell you about any releases in particular but more about their whole discography and the way they approach it. How can you possibly mix the spirit of the blues, the melancholy of stoner rock and the weight of doom in one? Well, I think that EGGNOGG came up with one answer, my friend! Of course there’s more than one answer but their sounds pretty damn good! Go and Listen to Baras Mogg from their EP called “Louis”! “Oh I didn’t see it comin’ bro”

It’s by mixing good ingredients you’ll manage to make the best recipe, right? Since 2009, EGGNOGG is constantly looking for the best ingredient ever. Their recipe is quite simple and fast to understand, well you don’t have any choice, they’re just throwing it right in your face! Every release that came out of their twisted mind is an attempt to create something new and mostly different from their older releases. Deeply rooted in the early 90’s sound, mixed with the magic powder the mighty sabbath or wizard used, EGGNOGG is pigging out to make it fatter than ever! And this bass! Oh boy! Goddamn it’s loud! We should all (re)consider being bass player. He brings the weight and guitars bring the melody, the colors to it. What a brilliant mix that create amazing song like their latest song called SLUGWORTH, this song should be on your top 10 of the year for the moment! Their sound is getting sharper and sharper as they evolve, bringing so much more efficiency!

Lane Stanley and Chris Cornell should be proud of what they came up with. This very typical gloomy atmosphere is what EGGNOGG is seeking for. Fans of Mad Season, you’ll be pleased but be ready to be crushed, it is heavier than ever. Ulysses (part 1 & 2) is a very good example of my words. Voice placements and notes strongly sounds like the amazing “Grind”, and this is a very good thing if I can say so. Great job!

Their strong “Seattle influence” is showing to you how important vocals are in a band like that. A good riff is sometimes not enough and they totally understood that. A strong vocals can take a song to a whole new level, and EGGNOGG has the chance to use that aspect as the axe will get you on your knees!

I think you get my point, EGGNOGG is a must-hear directly from New York City! Power, Loudness, Melody and Massive Landslide is on today’s menu! Their capability to play with a such panel of different sounds, and styles reflect the fact that EGGNOGG is composed by incredible musicians. Run to their latest release, SLUGWORTH is the shit, you’ll hear oriental influences, mud is slowly starting to confine you, the recipe is doing it. EGGNOGG has everything to please you, strong and solid riffs, a bass sound that will make Al jealous, a very powerful vocal with good lyrics (which is quite rare nowadays) carried by confident and massive drums. I’m sure you’ll be impressed by the diversify of this band, they are offering some of the finest materials of today’s scene, I can only wish them success and recognition. You people have to try them, go deeper and make them part of the soundtrack of your life, those guys deserve it and you deserve to know them well. So be nice to them, open your arms, go and hug EGGNOGG, the heavier they sound the nicer they can get! So please get lost in their discography, there’s so much to hear, to feel and to enjoy!
