Dig that "Desert Groove" !
Heya fuzzers ! Mr. Fuzz here, I already talked about Greenbeard when the released their selftitled album, and I’m really happy to show your their new full-length, full of Stonerish Grooviness right from Austin, Texas, let’s get down to it !
How is the sound ?
Be careful, “Stoned At The Throne” is a highly addictive piece of Stoner Rock, all in the fuzz & the groovy riffs !
I also have to say the production of this 2nd album is just so much better than the first one ! The rawer edge is gone and gives the way to a richer, heavier tone, putting the band on a new level of “professionalism”. Listen to “Dead Valley“, “Eris” and “Sludgito” which are also on the first one, and you’ll understand what I’m saying…
Regarding the sound itself, it definitely has that Greenleaf, Brant Bjork influence. I’m talking about that “Desert Groove”, where you first move your head back and forth, and then when the sound gets heavier, you unleash yourself and start moving not back and forth anymore, but more up and down, yeah that’s what I call the “Desert Groove” haha 😉
Why is this album worth listening ?
- If you already knew Greenbeard with their first album, you’ll love this one !
- Great vocals in the style of Greenleaf’s Arvid Jonsson
- For the FUUUUUZZZZZ !
- For the “Desert Groove” !
In what situation you should listen to this album ?
Take the special “Desert Rock” flight, you’ll end up in the middle of the Coachella Valley, next to some Joshua Trees and huge speakers, ready to blast a good dose of “Stoned At The Throne” !
Something particular to note ?
This gorgeous artwork was done by a talented french designer named Antoine under his company “Headbang Design“, check it out !
