Poland Delivers, Once Again, a Smashing Stoner-Doom Band!
This is the second but the first full-length release from Shine. There are four of them and they come from Poland, a place from where comes a lot of music that I myself think of as very good. But that is not to the point. The point is, that I have not been very active on writing reviews this year and this album changed it. I wanted to write about it right when it hit the spot in the perfect centre between my ears. And it felt like waking up to a new place and time. Really, this album is just so good I wanted you all to know about it. Here it is.
How is the sound ?
The sound is thick and full. It has a steady low rumbling base that holds everything else in it’s circularly embrace. And with it – it also keeps in your mind. And then they add layers upon layers of the dome that still bends out of the circle and into the air. That’s the bass and guitars. The drums have their own way to affect you. Here are the drums that make you move. And then the echoing vocals that sing you the title songs’ second verse. The title song is the third track out of five and that way itself is surrounded by songs that each have the capability to become your favorite. Because they can get real heavy.
Why is this album worth listening ?
- Each time you listen again you can air-play a different instrument.
- This is what fuzz is about!
In what situation you should listen to this album ?
First you have to relax. Don’t expect anything. Not in the way like your expectations should be low. Not at all. I mean in the way that you are not looking forward to anything too peculiar. This here is simply good doom.
Something particular to note?
